Symbolism behind names

I as my post was earlier it was over the symbolism in the colors of white and red. This post is over more symbolism but instead over the colors but over the names in the story.

Alymer, at first it doesn't give you a true meaning but gives you related name that the name could have come from then. The original name actually mean famous and noble.
Georgiana, Feminine form of the name George which means farmer or earth worked,,, Greek meanings
Aminadab, derives from a german name amandus. Which means lovable, worthy of love.

  1. I think that Aminadab's name is symbolic in the story because he stated that if Georgiana was his wife he would love her, birthmark and all. He is truly worthy of the love that Georgiana has for Aylmer because he can see past the imperfection that Aylmer can not. Aylmer is not worthy of the love that Georgiana holds for him.

  2. Aylmer as a boy's name is of Old English origin, and the meaning of Aylmer is "noble and renowned" http://www.thinkbabynames.com
Also I got a different name but also could mean something to Aminadab-Amando as a boy's name is a variant of Amadeus (Latin), and the meaning of Amando is "God's love"
